In 1267 the Pskov-Novgorod army made the most successful campaign against the Lithuanians, endlessly ravaging the Russian borderlands. Dovmont and the Novgorod voivode Elifery Sbyslavich inflicted a crushing defeat on the Lithuanian princes.
In 1268, Prince Dovmont was one of the heroes of the historic battle of Rakovor, where the Russian army defeated the Danish and German armies. Before each battle, St. Dovmont came to the church, placed his sword at the foot of the holy throne and received the blessing of the confessor, who girded his sword.
