Provenance: private collection, Bavaria.
Ferdinand Liebermann was a prominent German sculptor of the early 20th century. He devoted himself to sculpture related to architecture and monument preservation. He worked for Rosenthal from 1909 and was one of the most active modelers of Kunstabteilung Werk Selb. Among his best-known offerings is the Philosophical Disputation.
