    • Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov was a Russian commander, the founder of Russian military theory.
    • General Field Marshal of the Holy Roman Empire, Grand Marshal of the Piedmont troops, Knight of all Russian orders of his time, awarded to men, as well as seven foreign.

    • Throughout his career as a commander he did not lose a single battle, except for the battle during the siege of Ochakov. Repeatedly defeated the enemy forces, which were significantly superior in numbers. In total he gave more than 60 battles and fights. Known for his concern for soldiers, including participation in the development of a new practical field uniform, to replace the uniform “in the Prussian manner”.
    • Also under the leadership or with the participation of Suvorov many uprisings were suppressed, in particular the Pugachev Uprising, the Kosciuszko Uprising, the Nogai Uprising and the Kolievshchina. In 1778 Suvorov led the resettlement of Crimean Christians – Greeks and Armenians to the northern coast of the Sea of Azov, where the cities of Nakhchivan-on-Don (now within the limits of Rostov-on-Don; for Armenians) and Mariupol (for Greeks) were founded for their needs.
    • Suvorov is considered one of the greatest generals in Russian history and one of the great generals of the Early Modern period.
