Ernest RANCOULET-Born in 1870 in Bordeaux (France).-Studied at the Municipal School of Bordeaux. Then perfected his skills with Eugene Lequesne.- Exhibited at the Salon des Masters d’Art de France from 1870 to 1876.
– The subject matter of his works is quite eclectic, but with a pronounced tendency towards aestheticism. He was interested in allegorical themes, portraits of contemporaries and the depiction of various costumed characters in genre scenes. He also gravitated towards academicism and Art Nouveau.
