Sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte

Initial professional artistic education received under the guidance of his father (artist Emile Marie Auguste Guillemin), later studied under the famous French sculptor Jean Jules Salmson (Jean Jules Salmson, 1823 – 1902), a representative of the academic direction of French plastic art.

Guimen made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1870, and from that time on, numerous models by the sculptor were regularly exhibited at this prestigious show of artistic achievements in France. The themes of the compositions were biblical subjects, modern heroes, equestrian groups and horsemen. Guimen was particularly fond of depicting representatives of the East.

Sculptural works of Guimen enjoy a high interest among collectors and are always in high demand on the international antique market.
