    • Proletarii Porcelain Factory, Proletarii settlement, Novgorod Region.
    • The emergence of porcelain and faience production in Novgorod Province dates back to the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1884, in the village of Novaya Melnitsa, Krestetsky uyezd, Novgorod province (now the town-type settlement of Proletarii), an enterprise was founded to produce faience and porcelain tableware, the Reichel factory.
    • However, the products of this factory were inferior in quality to the Kuznetsovsky porcelain and enjoyed less demand. This accelerated the process of ruin of the enterprise. And in 1892, IE Kuznetsov bought out Reichel pledged production. From that time until the February Revolution the factory was owned by the Kuznetsov family.
    • After the revolution, the company established a council of headmen, who took full control of the established production. In the fall of 1921, NovGubFarfor (State Trust of Porcelain and Earthenware Industry of Novgorod Province) was formed, and this enterprise was included in it along with others. Porcelain began to be produced under the trademark “Proletarian” (hence the name of the village).
    • With the collapse of the USSR, the porcelain production in the village of Proletarian ended. The porcelain factory was left with abandoned buildings and memories.
