If your items meet these criteria, you will be able to sell them for quite a lot of money. If the item is handmade (exclusive) or is a vivid reflection of a certain historical event or cultural fact, it will have a value at the level of classic antiques. But for its accurate valuation, you will need the services of a professional expert appraiser.

What things from the USSR era are of most interest?

Not all household items and valuables of the twentieth century from home collections are of interest to collectors and are in demand on the antiques market. You will be able to sell quickly and profitably:

Soviet coins

![""]("https://zhivaya-starina.ru/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/photo_2023-11-13_10-03-39-600x800.jpg")

Banknotes from the times of the USSR are still of minimal value, if they were practically not in use and perfectly preserved. Basically, there is demand for coins of early and rare years of issue (1929 and 1947) and chervonts with high silver content (there are fewer and fewer of them), as well as jubilee metal rubles, which began to be issued from 1964.

Printed products and prints

![""]("https://zhivaya-starina.ru/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/photo_2023-11-07_16-11-23-1067x800.jpg")

Original, banned in the Soviet times and rare books, as well as magazines, newspapers, maps and atlases of the last century, posters and postcards are always in price. First editions of famous authors of the twentieth century and rare copies of closed publishing houses (“Alkonost”, “Musaget”, “Hyperborei”, etc.) are also valued.

Posters are of interest to interior designers, museums and theaters. Well-preserved Soviet postcards, issued in small numbers and without inscriptions, are very highly valued.

Porcelain tableware

![""]("https://zhivaya-starina.ru/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/photo_2023-11-18_12-14-28-600x800.jpg")

Porcelain in Soviet apartments was considered a certain luxury item and was often kept in ceremonial sideboards, demonstrating wealth and prosperity. Most of the factories whose porcelain tableware is in price today were inherited by the Soviet authorities from Tsarist Russia and have preserved the tradition of quality. High value have preserved the integrity and completeness of table and tea sets with the brands of such famous manufactories, tableware of the early years of the USSR and hand-painted products.

Cup holders

![""]("https://zhivaya-starina.ru/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/photo_2023-11-24_11-31-43-600x800.jpg")

The fashion for cupholders existed throughout Soviet history, and there were many of these items produced. However, the collector’s value is represented by items made of bronze and silver alloys, cupholders from the pre-war period, with unique decorations (blackening and gilding) and complete sets.

Statuettes

![""]("https://zhivaya-starina.ru/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/photo_2023-11-25_10-18-35-1067x800.jpg")

The highest demand was for porcelain statuettes, which were both mass-produced and handmade. Statuettes in the USSR were in every house to decorate the interior, but the collector’s and cultural value is primarily represented by statuettes of famous manufactories (Dulevsky, Lomonosov and Leningrad porcelain factories), figurines of historical figures of the time, fairy-tale heroes, literary characters, thematic sets and products of famous sculptors (Chekhonin, Malysheva, Shchekotikhina-Potototskaya).

Clock

![""]("https://zhivaya-starina.ru/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/photo_2023-11-25_16-43-53-600x800.jpg")

Another of the mass types of collectibles from the times of the USSR are wrist, table, wall and floor clocks, alarm clocks and marine chronometers of Soviet brands (“Slava”, “ZIM”, “Mayak”, “Rocket”, “Polet”, “Luch”, “Vostok”, etc.). Each mechanism is evaluated individually, but the greatest value is represented by products with beats, cuckoo, semi-precious finishes.

Children’s and Christmas tree toys

![""]("https://zhivaya-starina.ru/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/photo_2023-11-15_14-57-26-2-600x800.jpg")

Of greatest interest are accurate car models (scale 1:43), rare original dolls (including handmade) and Christmas tree ornaments, individual rare toys and sets.

Melody vinyl records.

The demand for music records produced by the Melodiya factory is high today – these music carriers are in fashion again and are an object of hunt for collectors. The greatest value is represented by old (pre-war) and rare copies, as well as rarity serial records released in minimal editions.
