Reference: One of the most famous naiads was Aegina. She was the daughter of the river god Asopus. Zeus turned into an eagle to steal the beautiful girl. Away from the wrath of his wife, he carried her away to a distant island, which would later be named in her honor. But the father did not forget his daughter, and looked for her here and there. Eventually he learned that the girl had been kidnapped by a great eagle. Asop immediately guessed who had stolen his daughter. And Zeus fell in love. Many days he spent with Aegina, flying to her as an eagle, or appearing in the form of flame. The thunderer was not going to give up the beauty and struck his grief-stricken father with lightning. Zeus had a son Aeacus from Aegina. Angry Hera (wife of Zeus), from jealousy has plagued all inhabitants of island pestilence. Therefore, when Eak grew up, the island was empty. At the request of his son, Zeus turned ants into people, and Eak began to rule over them. He was a king to the delight of the local ants, ruled wisely and justly, so that he was admired far beyond the island, and after his death because of similar merits he became a judge of the underworld.
