In ancient Roman mythology, FAVN is the god of fields, forests and patron of herds.
Faunus is one of the most ancient deities of Italy and Greece. He was depicted with goat-like features – hooves, pointed ears, small horns, with a body partially covered with wool. In the image of Faunus, the ancients honored the good demon of mountains, meadows, fields, caves, herds, giving fertility to fields, animals and people.

Alexander Romanovich von Bock was a Russian sculptor of German origin, a follower of academic classicism, a prominent figure among St. Petersburg sculptors of the post-reform era, a close student of Baron Pyotr Klodt; a master of monumental and easel plastic art, the creator of the first monument to composer Mikhail Glinka in Smolensk.
