Historical information:
In 1822, Johann Heinrich Leder, having received the princely privilege of Schwarzburg, founded the factory Lichte Porzellan on the northern slope of the Thuringian Forest in Thuringia, a state famous for its porcelain manufacturers. In 1840 the factory was bought by the brothers Christoph and Philipp Heubach and was named Gebrüder Heubach. In the following years the factory would be passed on to their sons.
Initially, the company produced porcelain tableware.
In 1949, Thuringia became part of the GDR. Even in this period Lichte porcelain did not lose its quality, and as a consequence, remained popular. Despite the simplicity of forms and minimalist painting on coffee and tea sets, in the second half of the twentieth century, this elite porcelain continued to decorate the homes of the wealthy strata of the population. Fine porcelain from Lichte was sold as luxury goods throughout the GDR as well as in Eastern Europe.
