Here is one story from the life of St. Nicholas, to which a sufficient number of curious works of art are devoted. This legend tells why St. Nicholas is considered the patron saint of children, as well as seminarian students.Once St. Nicholas, traveling to Nicea during a great famine, stopped at an inn. He was interested in where it is from the innkeeper such excellent meat, and in such quantities – after all, there was a famine in the country. And according to one version, he caught the innkeeper cutting up human meat, and according to another, he miraculously realized what the catch was.
